Kuwait suspends 100% tariff on e-cigarettes

The Kuwaiti government has decided, the introduction of a 100 percent tax E-cigarettes (including flavored products) to be postponed until further notice, as was recently read in the foreign press. The tax was originally supposed to be paid on 1. come into force in September of this year, but the postponement will only take place on 1. January 2023 be effective.

The report says: “The Acting Director General of Kuwait Customs, Suleiman Fahd, gave the instruction, the duty on disposable e-cigarettes and cartridges containing nicotine, whether flavored or not, as well as cigarette oil or cartridge packs containing nicotine 100 % to postpone.”

Fahd had previously issued a customs order, which has a reprieve from 100 % the tariffs on e-cigarettes and their vape oils (with or without taste) for a specific period of four months.

According to letter no. 72 of the year 2022 The customs instruction issued includes the list of four items flavored disposable nicotine e-cigarettes, unflavored disposable nicotine e-cigarettes, Vape oil- or gel packs containing flavored nicotine and vape oil- or gel containers with unflavored nicotine.
